Drivers can enjoy more than double tow ratings as the Wilderness gets a bump from 1,500 pounds to 3,500 pounds. The drive ratio has been tweaked and dropped to enhance low-speed climbing through Killingly, CT.
The standard all-wheel drive gives the Crosstrek Wilderness maximum traction by effectively distributing power to all the wheels, increasing stability. The Yokohama all-terrain tires further enhance traction.
The new Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness has a ground clearance of 9.3 inches thanks to the tweaked suspension that gives it a 0.6-inch lift. The higher ground clearance also gives the Wilderness higher break over, departure, and approach angles.
The X-Mode improves traction by adjusting the transmission and throttle in varying conditions, such as mud, dirt, and deep snow. The Wilderness comes standard with hill descent control and a stout rear differential.
Design and Tech
From its enhanced roof rails to the redesigned front and rear bumpers, the new Crosstrek Wilderness is ready to show off its trail-ready capability. The rugged styling features 17-inch alloy wheels and a hood decal that helps reduce glare and lets you see the trail ahead clearly.
